Default heater not working - help please

The car heater is only blowing cold air no matter what position the control is in. If you turn on the air con it blows very cold air, so the air con seems to be working.
Car is not loosing any coolant. It's almost as if the control button is not attached to anything, and its jammed on cold.

Any ideas of what I should be checking first before I take it to the dealers?

    Thanks

Air mixer servo motor. It seems it's a common problem.

    Thanks,

Any idea of the cost? Is it a DIY job, or in to the dealer?

    Cheers

Yep, took it out, stripped it down but beyond repair. The main cog has lost a tooth.

local dealer wants £79 for a replacement! Part no 006973Z. Is that right? I thought on another thread it was £45 ish.

    Thanks for your help

I paid £60 trade for the recirc" flap servo motor. So your quoted price is not far off I think.
