    Default Which child car seat.

My little girl is now 9 months old and it is nearly time to buy her first forward facing car seat. Me and my partner would like to buy a maxicosi seat as we allready have the rear facing one and feel they are good quality. Can any body tell me which one would fit in My Signum as we have tried one the Priori SPS and it would not fit. Any help would be much appreciated.

Not a Maxi-Cosi one but we've just bought a Britax Duo Plus. for Cameron.

It fits perfectly in both my Signum and Mrs D's 06 Corsa. Two great things about this seat are that you can also fit it into a car without Isofix using the seatbelt (hence the Duo name) and we did that the other day in a friend's car and I was impressed at how firmly it was held in that way. Not quite as well as the Isofix (as you'd expect) but I was very impressed at how firmly it was held in. The other thing is that is hasn't got one of those legs and so no footwell space taken up by it that you may want to use for other stuff.

Very easy to fit both on Isofix and seatbelt and came out very well in the Which? tests. We went for the Duo option, as opposed to the Isofix only, as there may be times when up at grandparents' etc. that it would be in another car that didn't have Isofix. It was also one of the few Isofix ones that didn't have the horrible leg thing.

Another nice thing about it is that it has a three position recline to allow the seat to tilt back slightly on it's built-in base. Easily done by the little grey handle you can see on the very front of the seat.

We have 2 Maxi Cosi and they are both brilliant. That's until you need to strip it down to get sick out of it, 8 years fixing helicopters came in handy!

lol, I wasn't meaning there was anything wrong with the Maxi Cosi, far from it in fact, just that the Britax is what we went for. As you say the Maxi Cosi seats, like Britax, generally come out well in tests such as Which? The Priorifix model came out well in the Which? test but that's the one that porkballs said wouldn't fit in his Signum - not sure the reasons.

Thanks guys for the info, I'd like the recaro one myself but I dont think the misses would stand for it. I was really looking to see what model maxicosi's people had fitted as when we tried the priori thingy they said due to the seat belt clips etc and the way the seats are that it was not secure enough. I must admit they didn't try the isofix fitting just the set belt route.
