    Default Purchased Elite with problems

    I purchased an an elite manual estate (1.9 cdti) the end of last month from a dealer in South of England . 8.5k. 07 reg. mint condition, (Network Q car).
    Drove it back to the Chester area (wet day) stopped at services near Birmingham for a break. When I set off again it had started to go dark and stopped raining so it was the first time I noticed that it was smoking badly when I put my foot down. Emissions light came on started to loose power so pulled off the motorway and called out AA. Very nice man cleaned out the EGR valve and suggested I took it to a main dealer. The car got me home but same problem next day on the way to a local main dealer.
    Dealer had the car for over a week replaced an injector and the EGR valve
    picked it up last week ran fine but being busy and still having my old estate (1.9cdti 227K!) didn't use till the weekend then only 80 miles. Yesterday used it more smoke , light came on and no power (same as before).Taking it back to local dealers this morning.

    This is a network Q car with 30 day exchange but I don't want similar I want an elite estate which are like "hen's teeth".( That's why I went down South). What are your views on the problem and my course of action? I am really getting a bit fed up now.

    I realise this is the model you wanted, but this car ain't the right one fella. Get rid while you can, as soon as the stealers get their hands on it it'll never run correctly again anyway!!!!
    There's always another car out there mate.

    Under the 30 day return return scheme is it right that you can only exchange it from the original dealers stock? What if they don't have a suitable model.(I must have a large estate). Or would it be possible to change it with another network Q dealer. Also I don't really want a trip back to London. Does anybody know if in some circumstances they will refund the purchase price? With the car being at the dealers for over 90% of my ownership have I got a case under normal selling rights?
    Car is back with a Chester dealer at the moment and I am waiting for a report.

    Do you have any Network Q documents ie 'Your Network Q Guarantee' if so read page 4paragraph 4. Network Q Ownership Promise. ..........

    As per any repair under warranty, road test it straight afterwards
    If the fault appears before you get home then phone them up and ask whether they want you to bring it back so they can witness the problem or to rebook it in
    Allow the dealership three chances to diagnose and correct the fault
    Once corrected allow three months

    If the dealership cannot fix the fault correctly on the third visit contact VX directly

    Since the car was supplied under Network Q and still within the 30 days, go back to the original sales department
    Advise them of the issue and that you want matter resolved
    Equally, if the fault cannot be resolved within the 30 days that you will be returning the car for cancellation of any agreement
    Finally, contact any finance company and advise them of the situation (and I can assure you that as the owner of the vehicle they will escalate the matter for immediate attention!)

    Its probably just a software issue on the fueling side of
    things ! if you want to exchange, you have to let them
    try to fix the problem ( same prob ) three times, then
    you qualify for the 30 day exchange, BUT you need to
    tell them strait away there is a prob.
