    Default Machine Polishing Pads...?

I will be soon buying my own machine polisher as I need to get the swirls/light scratches out of my car badly, but I don't have a clue as to what pads I need to buy to achieve this. I need some that will be good for removing swirls etc. and then for polishing/waxing afterwards.

The machine is a 6" one, but comes with various size heads, so should accomodate a wide range of sizes.

Any help would be appreciated as always

I'd PM Mark at Autobrite Dan.

I'm on the waiting list for the Kestrel DA as i have the same problem as you; swirl marks and holograms. I know Mark will advise me on what are the best heads and also the best cuts and polishes to use with it.

    HTH

    Paul.

I personally like the meguiars pads yellow polishing and tan finishing are usually enough for vauxhall paint for swirls and minor scratches.
Polishes, there are so many about, megs #83 and#80 are great places to start. But the 3m and menzerna polishes 3.02 and 85rd for finishing are also excelent products.

I tried a different aproach to mine last weekend and used #83 for defect removal on a megs yellow pad then finished down with 3m Ultrafina on a tan pad. the shine and depth was awesome its dirty again now but next wash I will take some photos.
