    Default Twanging Noise

    Getting a twanging noise from the front near side, usually when its on full lock, turning left when i pull out the drive, any ideas what it is , Car is due its first MOT Tuesday

    I have the same problem mate, only started after new springs were fitted (Yes, they do have the rubber bit on them!), it sometimes sounds like a grating noise though...but only when turning left and accelerating

    Normally the "twang" is due to the spring twisting in its seat.
    This is the metallic sound you hear, at full lock, or going over undue terrain. On mine this persisted for some time, before i finally seen pieced of the spring go bouncing down the road.

    Get them to get it up on the ramp, and give the twanging spring, a cud twist and turn, if the noise is replicated, your spring is probably on the way out.

    Failing that, the disc brake, back plains could be catching when you turning at full lock angles. This has also happened, and is just a simple case of a minor 2 second adjustment.

    Thanks for the info mate, will check the springs tomorrow along with the brake back plains, have a feeling could be that as the brakes were done last month , and has started roughly from that
