    Default Sticky Weights

    Guys

I've heard people talking about the 'sticky weights' on their wheels when it comes to balancing. Am I being stupid or are these actudal sticky pad type thingys that are stuck to the inside of the rims?

I ask because I recently took my wheels off to claen them and one of the wheels had a sticky thing on. I don't know what I thought it was but I removed it!

I think this may have caused some of the bad vibration I get at speed.... Am I right??

yes most probably the cause of your vibration.

on alloy wheels these days, you cannot "knock on" weights to the rims as they are the wrong shape, also it looks cack too.

so mostly these days sticky weights are used on the inside face of the rim. makes the wheel asthetically better and keeps the weights out the way

I feel like such a twaticus!

I'll need to pop along to our local tyre place and make up some story about a runaway zebra that managed to unstick the weights from my wheels with its tongue.....

Either that or tell him I peeled them off myself and now feel like a dosy twonk....
