    Question Exhaust Question?

Coming from the world of petrol engines and knowing that exhausts are part of tuning related to the engine. I notice that some on here are upgrading from 1 exit to 2 exits on the CDTi 120/150 using 2.2 back boxes.
My question is, does is matter what you do to a diesel exhaust? Are they not sensitive to change in back pressure or is it nor an issue?

    hi
it doesn't matter which car the exhaust comes from as long as the bore of the exhaust is the same or greater then the original.
you will not have any back pressure problems m8

Diesels do not benefit from exhaust changes like petrol cars do.

The main reason that owners are going from single to dual is because they look better with one each side.

By going down the dual route, you may see a little increase in power as the engine can get the gas's out quicker, but you will see a small drop in bottom end torque as the back pressure is slightly reduced.

I proved this on back to back rolling road runs, before and after.

    really mate.

I did mine for the looks. I'm sure you would get more gains from a diesel if you removed the exhaust completely
