Default front suspension coil went through tyre!

    help
just went out to my signum 1.9 cdti (05) . its been sat on the drive for 2 days. All i done was unlocked car then as i sat in there was an almighty crack followed by hissing air....turned out the front offside suspension coil broke then pierced the tyre!!!
the thing is can it be replaced easily diy style at what sort of price.... or is it a job for the garage at what sort of price?
Any advise appreciated as it has only just happened and i don't know where to start

if your good on the spanners then its quite a easy job, if you have doughts then take it to a local garage as the last thing you want is to be stuck and the car in bits

have you ever changed suspension on a car before?

That is a common thing to happen on vectra's . You can have your car parked outside your house and the springs will break while you are a sleep. My local dealer changes 2 sets every week. it all down to speed bumps. Its happening to all makes of cars.

I would go to a garage unless you have spring compressors and are handy with the tools, my spring had snapped and got done a week ago hadnt even noticed it i must have been lucky.
