Hiring a car for a road trip in America...

Simple question folks - what would you recommend for a trip of a few thousand miles of cruising both Interstate Highways and cross country routes...?

Looking at the Chrysler 300C as it's really the only car I know anything about that is freely available from the hire car companies, however the GF is a bit nervous as it's rather large which she isn't used to...

Suggestions please...

We had a 300C when we went to US last year. Will be ideal for what you want. We travelled from Orlando to Albany, Georgia (5 hours each way) in total comfort for both of us and 2 kids and plenty of room for luggage.

You need something comfortable as places are a long way apart, roads are wide so the GF will soon get used to it imo ..... hth ..........

Corvette or Mustang ftw

Cars will be bigger but lanes are wider, so are parking spaces etc to make way for the fat yanks so big cars aren't a problem over there. Especially with almost all being point and shoot (autos)

I do love the fact that the minimum engine size over there is a 2.7 V6....

Everything is bigger over there, last time I was over there I had this and it's a small car compared to the trucks and pickups.
