    Default Polishing -How often?

Ive always assumed that you should polish a car every time you wash it. But according to a mate of mine, all polish's should only be used once every couple of months. Is this true, and if so what should I be using after the drying stage of washing instead? Im currently using Autoglym super resin polish. Thanks guys.

Cheers, the car still has a layer of GuardX on it atm, but Im planning on stripping that off soon, because I keep finding little blemishes etc sealed underneath it. Vauxhall obviously did little to no prep work on the paint before they sealed it. Im just going work on keeping the paintwork good myself after!

A polish will remove some of the surface laquer/paint. So should only really be done say once a year or when needed to remove swirl marks scratch,s. A wax will protect the paint, and can be put on every day if you wanted to. But I would say once a month is probably enough. If you get a wax like Colinite 915/ 476 then you can leave waxing for longer as this wax is very durable.
