Default Evans Halshaw, Hunslet Rd, Leeds

Hi - has anyone had any dealings with the above for servicing? My 08' plate SRi CDTi needs it's first service and this place is local to me. Or can anyone recommend a decent dealership either in Leeds or Wakefield that could do the job without fear of them ripping me off or doing half a job

    Thanks - J.

i have its where my car came from last year. they serviced it before i bought it and when i came to pick it up the next day they mentioned it had a slight oil leak the salesman showed me where the car was parked so i had a quick peak underneath. somebody had forgot to put the sump plug back in properly the full underside of the car was blathered in oil.i was not a happy chappy.
long story short without the swearing, they ended up rebuilding its engine.
has been ok since but if ever i needed to go to the stealers i went to the vx stealer on chantry bridge wakefield. its out of warrenty now so i use independant garages hope this helps

My advice is stay clear! - I took my 2.2 petrol signum when it was in warranty as it kept going into limp mode and the spanner kept flashing up on the dash board.
They cleared the fault on the computer and told me it was plugs !? - So i took it away, and bought some from a local motor spares at half the price. Didnt make any odds. Put my foot down and still went into limp. Took it back and told them thet had mis-diagnosed. They told me i probably hadny torqued the plugs properly... yer right.
They kept it for a day or two, then said they had sortef it. They told me they had taken it for an extensive drive, up and down dale, and the fault hadnt occured.
I picked it up dubiously, put my foot down, and by the time i was passing Costco, had it in limp mode again!!
Went back in for another few days then they found the fault. Replaced some parts and all was well after that.
I found them incompetant, not very polite or apologetic. I would go wakefield or i think theres an evan halshaw near xscape in Castleford.

are dealers not just like going to the doctors if you know what i mean you tell your doc the symptoms he gives you something it doesn't work then you go back and get something else and so on untill it does work

i thought tech2 was pretty much the same or at least thats what it's looking like the machine points to something you change that and hey presto it's not so it points to something else and so on

thats my take on tech2 to diagnose problems

Ive had both of my vectras into the Wakefield Garage for my air-con and other things and i have had no issues with them at all they are quite helpfull and friendly when i have dealt with them, unsure about the one in Castleford as they did some work on the air-con before i bought the car and they never put some of the parts back on i wouldnt and wont take my car there. also they like to rip people off interms of costs as well

Thanks - I'll give the Vx dealer in Wakefield a go then. As this is the first time I've owned anything like a new car I don't want some half ar*ed job done after I've spent my hard earned money buying the car in the first place.

Could you make Harrogate? Do not touch Halshaw's on Hunslet Road, they are horrendous.
