crashed sat nav!

my mate has crashed his navman icn 520, he tried to add new maps and so on and now its crashed/frozen is it possible to wipe it clean and re-install everything, he has all the bits and bobs that came with it, but dont know what to do with it because its just coming up with some message saying hackman files incomplete or simular,thats whats happened since he tried to install items brought from flea-bay!!!!

i think he said that he looked at the navman site but as its just coming up with some error message he wanted to wipe or reload back to original but dont know how to do it.

it could be but i presume that the warrenty would be void as he was trying to upgrade his maps from an e-bay supply?

Is the maps not on a memory card? my tomtom has a memory card in the side which stores the maps and other data, he could just buy a new official map HTH

he has all his original maps on cards, where the problem started was that when he wanted to go from the uk through several countries and didnt want to keep changing cards, so he brought a pack from e-bay and tried to install but it did not complete and it has frozen the sat nav, what he wants to do is re-install the navman software and then he can stick his original maps back in, but he needs it up and running first but it dont want to seem to do anything.
