Just wondered how many members are taxi / private hire drivers?

i have a firm of 10 cars( taxi and private hire) and 3, 9 seaters mini buses thx. drivers are a nightmare.all vectra c estates and my car is a hatchback vivaro's aswell

on my firm theres only one nice vectra thats mine oooo and second best is tabby one and two crappy ones

I used to before all my back surgery. I ran a Galaxy Ghia and worked for myself and on my own but did help a group of other firms that operated like me which was a more corporate style with a shirt and tie but I did do Airports which was a good 95% of my work.

Here's one to start; our standard SRi 1.9 CDTi 150...



It's no different to any other Silver Lightning SRi, but it's a smart looking car. The only thing that lets the car down is some slight kerbing to the wheels. We're reluctant to have them refurbished though as it's likely they'll be damaged again as a taxi.

It's covered 120,000 miles and apart from a clutch and DMF, no problems to speak of. We're very happy with it.

Late reply, been away for a few days.
Just replaced my 52 reg Astra 1.4 16v estate with a Black Vectra 1.8 vvti. O6 reg but with my own plate on it.
After lurking on here for 3-4 months decided petrol would be better than derv after reading some of the horror stories!
Astra returned 32mpg around town, 39 if a 'distance' thrown in.
Vectra 34.7mpg around town, no major distance work yet.

We have 2 vectra estates :
55 1.9 cdti (120) SRI - 227k
07 1.9 cdti Elite -8k
The drivers that I give work to also have:
54 diesel elite estate (mint) 340k
55 1.9 cdti (150) Design estate - 60k

Our core business is airport transfers and we find these vehicles ideal for the job. Will try and post photos some time later.
