Hello 1st time vectra owner

Hi there,

I bought my Vectra C 3 weeks ago and need some advice on a couple of things and the most suitable place to post my question..

1 Where is the best and (cheapest place) to get a spare key cut and programmed.

2 I have a sort of knocking and grumbling sound when putting the engine under load between 2000-3500ish (is this normal)

If someone could point me in the right direction to post these questions it would be appeciated.

vx will charge you about £67.00 for a new key all in as for the noise, what engine do you have ??? if cdti then it could be DMF....

Its a 1.8 petrol LS Vectra, the noises make it sound slightly diesel like to be honest. Its has a full service history and is just coming up for a service. It goes really well and apart from a creakey rear hatch which would pobably be solved with a bit of adjustment its a really nice car.

£67 for a new key sounds cheap they quoted me £135 odd for one with the three buttons, is the £67 for just a plain key as I have an alarm and I believe an immobiliser and according to the manual if my missus has that sort of key and tries to get in the car the alarm will sound until she puts the key in the ignition (is this true).

Ive not had a vauxhall car for over ten years, my first car was a 1.6GL cavalier followed by a 1.8 SRi cavalier and then finally an SRi130 cavalier(my pride and joy which got nicked twice, once for an armed robbery and the 2nd time it got burnt out)
