Flywheel problem ???

HI GUYS, STARTING TO GET A JUDER FELLING WHEN PULLING AWAY IN 1ST GEAR(WITH CLUTCH OUT AT LOW SPEED) CHANGES GEAR OK BUT HAS THE SMALL NOISE CHANGE WHEN I PUSH IN THE CLUTCH.
CALLED LOCAL STEALERS AND THEY SAY SOUNDS LIKE FLYWHEEL AND COULD BE THE CLUTCH ASWELL BUT WOULD KNOW MORE WHEN THEY STRIP IT OUT.
QUOTED ME £849.24 FOR CLUTCH ALL INC, £1417.24 FOR CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL ALL INC.
IS THIS PRICE ABOUT RIGHT OR SHOULD I FIND A SMALL GARAGE TO DO WORK ?

I paid £1300 in a local garage for mine clutch and flywheel. You could source flywheel and clutch on ebay then as a small garage to fit it.

start haggling with the stealers, they will lower the price as its a good job they are making a few quid off it thats for sure! economic crisis and all that im sure they will lower the price a bit to keep the guys in a job!

Chears , i will see if i can get the 2 local stealers to fight over it like when i had the swirly manifold done got one stealers to nock of £100.
Do you know how long before it goes or is any time as im going on holiday in 3 months could do without the cost ,
will it just keep going then just not be aball to change gear one day ?

I wouldn't worry too much. Mine's done 154k and is still working.

WITH THE JUDDER ? MY CDTI IS AT 86K MILES , I THINK I WILL LEAVE IT UNTIL I GET BACK FROM MY HOLS CHEERS.

Mine was rattling away for over 20k miles, and just got noisier and rougher to drive, makes a hell of a difference when its done though.
