    Default Smart Casual

What would you guys consider smart casual?

    Jeans and smart polo shirt?

    Trousers and shirt, no tie?

I'm doing a bit of work for a mate tonight, and when i asked him what to wear he said smart casual. I should have asked him to be more specific, but didn't. So over to you guys, what do you consider smart casual?

we have this at meetings with work and courses etc and its usually no jeans, so maybe a pair of trousers , chinos, and a shirt or smart polo shirt etc.

    Sounds about right.
I had to go on a course recently which called for "business casual"
When I asked, they meant a suit, but not a tie.

I've always considered smart casual to mean Trousers (not jeans) and smart shirt (polo shirt should be OK, providing it has descreet logo's etc)

I've got an awards ceremony on Tuesday night next week

Black Tie affair..... although others do turn up in normal suits with a normal black tie.... and other just dont bother at all.....

Quite like the 'black tie' evenings though....

I quite like a man in a DJ.

I would say, trousers and a casual shirt, (not necessarily a shirt that you would wear to work with a tie) and shoes not trainers.
