1.8VVT oil consumption

Is it just mine, or does anyone else's VVT like a little tipple of the 5W30?

Used 750ml in 3000 miles. Only using since engine rebuild at 20k.

I can't vouch for high mileage but i have done approx 1k in mine and it has'nt budged on the stick! like you say it might be something to do with the rebuild, may be the bedding in of parts, was it done by VX? might be worth a trip back to them or the garage that did the job!

Yeah, was built by main dealer after an oil leak around the head (which oddly only lost 250ml in 3000 miles). No leaks now but drinking the oil instead.

Engine is strong and goes well, hoping it's just bedding in again. Car currently has 24k on the clock.

Never had to put a drop my 1.8 vvti between oil changes.11000 miles now.

My VVT has 35k on it now and i have only put 1 litre in it in top ups in the 2 years i have owned it.
