Green Issues...

Ok chokey....on the news this morning I heard a report about a proposal to construct a HydroElectric Plant across some river in Wales....This plant would use the tide to create 15% of the Countries (UK) electricity needs.......

A lovely 'green' idea you may think - but NNNNOOOO!!! The government backs it, the welsh ****-embley backs it, and the 'greenies'???? Nope!!

What the HE11 do these people want???

They are arguing that it will destroy the local environment...aaaaagggghhhh these bllo0dy greenies drive me potty - they have all the intentions to save the world - but no ideas of how to do it.....

When a green solution is put forward, they aren't happy - Personally, I'm all for 'Green' ideas, I really REALLY am....but in this instance - I say, build a pi55in great big Coal Powered Power Station next to the river where this Hydro Plant would have sit - see how they like that.....

Rant over...

And then knock it down in a few years when the coal runs out and build the hydroelectric plant to replace it!

Report this week from the greenies that all famalies should be banned from having more than one car.

Strange how all these people live in the centre of town with good transport links. Either that or they stay at home and sponge off the state.

A couple of silly things that have gone on here recently:

Victoria's oldest, dirtiest coal power station ("Hazelwood") was supposed to be decommissioned, but the State government has just extended its operating license to 2030 and allowed it to expand
Our Federal govenrment has just refused to allow a wind farm to be constructed because the Minister for the Environment claims that it will endanger the Orange-bellied Parrot. Locals say they have never sighted one of these birds in the area.

Just goes to show at least that these bonkers legislations are NOT just confined to the UK!!!

Amazing - we have something free and non polluting like hydro electric power, and they STILL aren't happy!!!!

I can't begin to imagine - as per MLC's comment, how we could even begin to function without two cars. Drinky works away from home more often than not, at a wide range of anti - social hours, and only has the use of the works van 50% of the time - and also needs to be able to run his mum (a non driver) about town when needed.

The kids are all at the same school, 12 miles away from home, so a car for me is essential to drive them back and to, since the free school bus does not cover our area, and a normal public bus would cost us a whopping £100 per child per year!!!

Go on then Green Brigade - work that one out for me!!!
