I used to be a map person - but my vectra now has a CD70. It certainly wasn't on my wish-list when looking to buy a car - an added bonus actually. Now I think sat-nav is great, especially when it has TMC as well. I'll often use sat-nav now for known routes, because of the TMC...

    HOWEVER - i still use a map before setting off, and will sometimes ignore sat-nav instructions. For example driving to Northampton from Southampton sat-nav will take me M3 > M25 > M1. I prefer A34 > M40 > A43

I use the one in the car but always check where it's taking me just in case it's come up with a route that I know is particularly busy or is off the end of a pier.

I've found that whilst its really useful, if I have to do the same journey for a second time I can't remember the exact route whereas with a map I can.
