    confused spanner light on

hi, i have a 2004 opel vectra 2.0 dti with 112,700 miles done. now today i changed oil,oil filter and pollen filter and immediatly on starting the car the light with the spanner thru the car came on and has stayed on . even if i turn the engine on and off like the manual says it stays on ! i brought the car on a 10 mile drive and its still on but the car is driving perfect.so anyhoo i get home and decided to pop the bonnet and have a looksee and this is the best part the bonnet wont open .i pulled the release catch but it feels very loose, like it isnt connected to the bonnet catch. so now the spanner light is on but i cant get under the bonnet to check anything! any ideas other than wetting it with petrol and drying it with a match?

damn, that's sounds like an awkward problem. Sorry I can't help, but I'm sure someone here will have a good answer to this, soon enough.
I'd be interested in knowing how to tackle this problem of broken hood latch too.

no, the spanner light means a fault has been logged. Time to plug into tech 2 for that.
As for the hood latch, I just did a google search about this, and this thread on a passat car forum might help - possibly http://www.passatworld.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=170058
