    Default Ive been skanked

Not delibratley i think, just a case of not reading the info properly or maybe the data sheet was incorrect.

Ive been sold a Digital green 1.9CDTI 150 Elite for £11995 54 Plate. He wouldnt knock any money etc so i ended up agreeing anyway. Ive paid a £500 depoist on my card and he's ordered the car to arrive thursday.

Just been to get a few insurance quotes and more than one insurance website has thrown it back as a 1.9 120...not a 150

After the inital sinking feeling and anger, me and the wife had a chat and to be honest, The 120 suits us better as i dont really need to get to 60 in 8.8 seconds, 10.5 is enough for me with the little one in the car. Plus is cheaper to insure and is even more economincal, so we still want it.

What makes it so bad is ive agreed a deal on a 150 and im getting a 120. I dont think hes done it on purpose like i say, either he's read the form wrong or the form itself is wrong. What should i say to the salesman.??

    Andy

Have a look on the V5

    V7 Section

    CO2 (g/km) for a 150bhp = 159 G/KM (16V)

    CO2 (g/km) for a 120bhp = 154 G/KM (8V)

When I put my Reg in for insurance the options came up to select 120 or 150, they are both in the same group

I was worried about the same thing, but was satisfied when I saw the V5 with 159G/KM of CO2

Let us know how you get on ....

    I did not want a 120bhp ..... I wanted to enjoy the extra 30bhp and 8 Valves

Anyway ... how would we know whether the car was a 120bhp or a 150bhp by looking under the bonnet?

    Mine was listed as a 150bhp .... has the correct CO2 emissions for a 150bhp ....

    Andy,

just done mine, it comes up as 150bhp yippee

but I entered one which is listed as 120bhp and it came up 150bhp

Seems that confused.com will list all CDTi as 150bhp

The elite 150bhp is group 12 and the 120bhp is group 12 also

Anyone know visually how to distinguish between 120bhp and 150bhp?

Go onto the RAC site. Register as a member and you can put in the reg number and it will give you details of the vehicle (engine size, no of owners etc.)

The RAC site is good but it doesn't distinguish between 120bhp and 150bhp engines.

    Do you have the V5?

This private or a VX dealer...
if its not what is advertised it's their error not yours.
As long as you have a copy of their ad either cancell your order and demand the deposit back or renegotiate the deal.
