Default Signum 2.2 petrol fuel pump u/s

Hi all newbie to foruming had my 05 Signum 6 months and loving it. recently though had the watchdog problem with the high pressure fuel pump. Car has 38000 but just 4years old vauxhall have said no contribution cause of age and no proof of service history. Fuel filter gets changed at 40000 or 4 years so just on the edge so service history for a known fault should not matter in this case. taken this up now with trading standards and emailed watchdog as customer service guy was right up himself (he's a manager).
Has anybody had this problem ? have Vauxhall contributed? Am i wasting my time without a service history? Help as nearly £550 is not good

Default Signum 2.2 petrol fuel pump u/s

Have mooched through for days but after people who are out of warranty who vauxhall have given reconpense to as they are adamant to not shelling out. Even to the point they told me i was the 3rd owner so this was another reason they would not pay up. Had to pay the bill but had Under protest put on it as advised by trading standards

Same problem mate...05 plate 37k 2.2. Direct sri Vecta...New fuel pump. Still sending Vauxhall Services emails for the request for financial assistance...still no...The last email I sent I asked for a service voucher to soften the blow of the Fuel pump cost...Waiting for a reply...I also asked for a full run down on the Fuel regulator issues... copied watchdog in on all the emails...wasting my time i think.....

My Fuel pump was fitted on 17/02/09...I explained to Vauxhall that with the launch of the new Vauxhall Insignia, the 2.2 Direct Fuel System engine has no place in the New Vauxhall Range.

This would tell me that Vauxhall has now washed their hands of any future problems relating to the 2.2 Direct Fuel System and passing the costs of Vauxhall`s Fuel System Design Faults on to the second hand car owners.

I find it very hard to comprehend that Vauxhall can not offer a good will gesture towards the cost incurred to me for replacing a know Design Fault.....and i should be in on way liable for the incompetence of the design engineers!!

Had mine replaced this week, only clocked 25k. Under warranty so of course not paid anything, but i don't think you should have to either! Hope you can get at least some cash back.
