Default Spec Average Speed Camera's Do Work!

The following is a quote from Pocketgpsworld Camera Database site, which puts the myth they dont work to sleep once and for all. Although us members on here already knew that... didn't we.

    SPECS Cameras - They work

Last week I asked for people who had been caught by SPECS installations to contact me and contact me you did. I'm saddened to say I was flooded with emails from readers who had fallen foul of the average speed cameras. One unlucky driver was fined for driving at an average of 52mph through a 50 zone. So whilst some may not be switched on, they do work, ignore them at your peril

As I've already said, my Snooper identifies Specs cameras specifically, and continues to do so until the series of Specs cameras ends. I suspect that some drivers see the first camera slow down then speed only to be caught by a subsequent one. I always see some drivers usually at least a third ignoring the speed restriction although more seem to be aware of them and slow down than was the case a few years back.

Loads got caught on the Thelwall Viaduct on the M6 a couple of years back where at one point the limit was reduced to 30mph on a section of reverse camber. Major road works always seem to have the cameras working.

I stick rigidly to the limit where the limit is down to road works on the motorway, and tough luck to those whom I hold up.

    I highly doubt that

There is still a tolerance on the Specs speed cameras as there is with the Gatzo's. They still allow a 10% speedo error, not sure if they still include the plus 1 or 2. But that would make it 55mph. You would not get caught driving at 55 in a 50 (on a speed camera). It sounds like scare tactics to me

I thought the 'Snooper' and similar devices were now illegal in the UK, or am I mistaken 'again' lol ?

It has been said that 'laser detectors' and perhaps radar detectors are going to be illegal, but GPS-based systems like Snooper definitely not. My Snooper S3 has a laser detector built in, but in 3 years it has failed to detect anything, so to all intents and purposes I have a GPS fixed-camera detector, which works just fine and is legal.

all im saying is thank god for cruise control and road angel as i set my cc to just under the limit and leave it on til the spec zone ends, i use my road angel for relying on that being more accuret for speed than my spedo as i have heard of a few court cases where people had been done for speeding but got off with it as the judge decided that the road angels are more accuret than spedos
