Interior rear light the time has come....

Well its a nice day out and i am about to wash the car and in the boot i found my rear interior light and sunglasses holder.

Really nervous about this but had the parts since i got the car 14 months ago so time to get on and do it

well got the headlining down a bit and cant find the plug

It might be there but theres a lot of ribbon cable and very very sticky tape so basically i have given up. i might see if any kind soul who has done this already at pvs fancies helping me out and showing me the way lol.

Sunglasses holder doesnt fit on mine either. i do have a mounting part for it as well but dont fancy taking the front headlining down so fitted a corsa style one where the drivers grabhandle goes instead so will pop the vectra holder in for sale section or e bay later. Probably e bay as i want to sell the mounting bracket as well to recover the money i paid out.

off to wash the car now

I know what you mean graeme, i find it quite hard to do work on my car even though i work on mechanical components all day at work

not sure what the problem is but its like some sort of wall that makes you **** yourself everytime you touch it

I think you've found it Graeme. From what I've read on other threads, it's there in the tape. You've just got to very carefully unravel it from the tape.

But then again, buy somebody a few pints at PVS and get them to help you!

Should've bought a Signum m8, you get these in the back as standard........

It's under all the tape Graeme, the ribbon cable is quite tough, it's just weak once you have a blade near it! Even if you pull the connector off the end of it, it will simply push back on.

Get that Sport Hatch bought, Graeme! It's got map lights, rear reading lights, sunglasses holder, traction control switch, sport switch and illuminated sunvisor mirrors all in it. (just don't buy an '06 one, coz in typical style Vauxhall have now taken most of these bits out!!)
