    Default Bonnet colour match!!??

Well after some advise and opinions really!!

When I bought my car it had some flaking paint round the grill and repaired badly, which was reflected in the price and I thought I could eventually get it sorted by Chips Away.

The Chips Away guy has just been and said "the only parts of a car we cannot fix are bonnets, roofs and boots" WTF, so in effect they can do doors and bumpers!!

He advised that the whole bonnet would need to be done to get a good repair!!

    So my options are:

    1. Buy a second hand bonnet in my colour at a cost of around £100 (with a possibility of a slight colour mismatch) also I would put my bonnet on ebay as damaged needs re-spray to re-coup some costs.

    2. Get the bonnet re-sprayed at a cost of £250 ( they have to do the tops of the wings too, to match the colour)

Would there be much of a colour mismatch on a second hand bonnet of the correct colour?

    What would you do?

Your opinions and advice would be much appreciated!!

Thanks T, I have already had quotes from 3 bodyshops, all say the whole bonnet will need to be done.

Two quoted £250 and the third quoted £550

I would get a second hand bonnet off of ebay as the Vectra is not even colour matched properly in the first place, car is sprayed in germany, bumpers are sprayed in spain and who knows where the other items are sprayed.

Iv'e gone and bought a second hand bonnet for £90 in star silver so will see what the colour match is like when I pick it up, I hope its not too bad!!

I can live with slightly off colour better than I can live with it at the moment, it just looks like its ready for the scrapper!!
