Default Warning symbol on dash HELP!!

I had a warning symbol come up on my dash (In the small space that the picture of the car sits in that tells you if your doors are open etc...). I got to work...normal drive in (about 20-25min drive)...parked up and let it tick over as usual and this symbol appeared. I turned the car off and gave it a few seconds and turned it on again and it was still there. Came inside and had a search on here, went back outside to take a picture of it (5 mins later) and it is not on anymore (for now ).

I've tried to draw a pic of it as i don't have my owners manual with me.

    brake wear sensor mate.

the sensor is on the front right wheel i think.

means your pads are getting low.

mine was intermittent for a while before it came on permanently.

was the sensor replaced at the same time?

it could be a worn sensor, or a dodgy connection

    excellent drawing by the way!

Easiest way is just to snip the wires for the sensor and connect them together. that way, the warning will never come on and you can save 8 quid on replacing it...

You just have to keep an eye on the pads yourself, which I'm sure is something anyone on here can do...

For the sake of 8 quid i would replace the sensor rather than bodge it

I have the wires shorted and it was picked up on the MOT but not a failure.
