    Default First MOT

So my car was first registered on 15/05/06 so 15th of May will be it's third birthday so I presume I need to get it MOT'd on or before that date? (never had a car under 3 before). Also if I get it done early will they add the weeks on like they do with second and third MOTs etc or will the first certificate just run from the date of the first MOT?

Also I guess it'd be good to do it in advance so if something's wrong it might be covered by the Vx warranty before it expires on 15/5?

    Thanks.

Yes mate it will be due. You should get a reminder from DVLA. You can still get it MOT'd early and the time will be credited to the cretificate. If it fails on anything (which I highly doubt), as long as it isn't a wear and tear item, then VX should do it under warranty.

I don't think they can post date an mot first time as they haven't got a previous date to go on.
I would get it in early, as you say anything that needs doing & is covered by warrunty, is good for yourself.
