    Default V8 Aussie power

I was trundling down the A6 from Luton The other day when I came up behind another car which was being held up by a queue of slower traffic. I couldn't work out what it was at first, as it had a Vauxhall badge, but wasn't familiar. As I got closer, the rumble from the twin rear pipes gave away instantly that it was a VXR8. Nice!
As we went along, a Civic came up very fast behind me and had to brake hard to avoid joining the dog in the back seat. He hung on my bumper, desperate to pass but had no room to get around us.
Anyone who knows this road will recall that, as you approach Clophill on the A6, there's a very short section of dual carriageway before a roundabout. As we approached, I heard the VXR8 change down to get past the lower traffic. I stayed in the left hand lane, as I was turning left at the roundabout anyway. Rice boy in the Civic got even more agitated as we hit the dual section, pulling out the instant we hit the stripy bit and screaming past me. Only to be totally upstaged by the VXR8, as he floored it away ahead of the Civic, sounding like two Spitfires and a Sopwith Camel, and rapidly pulling away into the distance.
A nice example of Aussie muscle beating Japanese techno, I think.......
I could never afford to buy or run one, but I love the tune they play!

Lovely car, great fun to drive. im sure it's even quite practical, so long as you can steal all your fuel!

I am looking forward to ~5th generation of electric cars. Amperasounds prettygood, 370nm of torque, but i reckon by 4th or 5th generation the batteries and motors will be so compact and powerful that we will have access to mega performance cars that don'tcost the earth (literally!) to run.
