    Default Im being brave...

Today, backed the vec in the garage and removed some bits..

Im doing the head gasket myself, not a mechanic by any means but always have a go. Im sort of looking forward to it, good experience but hope I do it right !! Heres a little picture of it getting started !!

If the weather is good in the morning, will drop the coolant/oil and crack on with the cylinder head !

Hmmmmmm, very brave mate what mileage is on the car? What you gonna do if the head needs skimming? I presume you're armed with a torque wrench? I'm not a great believer in them for all things but I think it's pretty vital on the head bolts to get the stretch rite, and make sure you get new head bolts!

Looks like a 2.2, while your there it would be stupid not to fit a new chain kit and oil jet mate. Or at least make sure the oil jet is the uprated one. Keep the pics coming.

Old and new type, you can see how the old one gets blocked with that tiny aperture.
