SRI 1.9CDTI 150: Power Issue

Hey Folks,

Only had my SRI 150 two weeks (second hand from VX only done 27,000).

Noticed today the torque and power output seemed to have dropped.
Under normal driving it just seems like a non turbo diesel.

Where as before, it would pick up the pace quite rapidly, you now have to plant your foot, and then the turbo kicks in abruptly. Seems to be kicking in much higer up the rev range than before as well.

In one instance i booted it, and the turbo didnt seem to kick in at all, was just like an ordinary diesel going through the revs.

It's almost as though the turbo doesnt kick in at the correct range.

Could this be the EGR issue?

The car is under warranty still, so I assume i'm best getting it to the dealers, just to make sure?

Feedback much appreciated.

Dont quote me, from what I have read previously on the site, it does sound like an EGR fault. You could try cleaning but you may awell take it back, given you have warranty..

Would seem i'm on the right lines.

It's one of those situations where you think "is it me, or am i just imagining things".
Think i'll give them a ring, and see what can be sorted.

How easy is the EGR valve to locate? I've looked at the How 2's, but none of them show the actual physical position?

The EGR valve is at the back right hand side of the engine look at the pics of it then look at the engine you will find it easy enough i removed and cleaned mine a couple of months ago took an hour or so good how to on here mate.

Thought that's where it was!

I've booked it in with my local VX dealer.

It's still under Network Q warranty. (Only had it 3 weeks).

It's also developed a "coh clunk" on the front right spring they had replaced.

Either they havent seated it correctly, or its the start of the ******* eventually snapping in the seat!
