    Default Snapped spring????

Yesterday i heard quite a loud noise from the front of my car,( just once) drivers side front wheel area. Although i've never heard a spring snap before, the sound i heard i would certainly associate with that of a snapped spring sound if i ever heard one, if that makes sense. Anyway pulled up and had a look but couldn't see anything that looked different to the other side so cautiously carried on. I didn't notice any difference in handling or cornering etc so could this of been a snapped spring or not???

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

It could be, although you would notice a difference. Depending where it snapped the car may not be even driveable. Maybe you just ran over something? (or someone? )

If the spring is snapped, is there any chance that it may spring out when you jack the car up. I doubt it but just a word of caution.

No there is a shock absorber down the middle of the spring so i don't think there is any chance of the spring ejecting itself as you jack the car up.

Vauxhall springs seem rubbish, my Astra G was on it's 3rd set of springs when I sold it. Like above they broke near the bottom rather than in the middle. On a positive note, good excuse to lower it if it is broken
