    Keep your eye on it
Record the date and mileage when it happened, also take a digital photo of the dashboard (as you can present this as evidence at a dealership)
If it happens again, then repeat
If it happens a third time, then book the car in
By this stage there should be a fault logged on the EMS

Why is the dealership looking at the brakes, if it is NOT booked in for that...
Oh that's right, they need to make it look like they actually had an interest

Personally, I would look for another dealership, even if it costs you a little in travelling to/from them
My nearest one is Stirling, but I travel to one I have more faith in as I have used them for 12 years now

Ask them why they came to that conclusion. When the MOT station gave you the figures they did.

They must have very good calipers to give a reading of 5% material left!
Assuming the front brake pads have 10mm of material, that means there is curently only 0.5mm left
However, the MoT tester says there is 4.5mm
    That is some difference!

Equally, I was under the impression that all Vectra C were now fitted with front brake pad sensor warnings, and they tend to go at about 2.0mm of tread
I think that dealership needs a nudge to wake them up
