Thought id get a few jobs done on the Vec today....
First up was getting the callipers sorted out. Id already painted these red when i upgrades to the 314mm setup, but this was almost a year ago and the red paint had faded slightly due to road salt, wheel cleaning products ect.
So wheels came off and they were re-painted. Also added some vauxhall decals that i got off ebay a whiole back but didnt put them om as i wasnt sure if id like the look. Im glad to say i do and i wish id put them on ages ago.
(please excuse the arches, i live in the countryside and they are always mucky this time of year, but ill have them clean for the show season, oh and the wheels were given a good clean as well)
So with that done, the next job i wanted to do was to get the exhaust tail pipes and back boxes clean and shiney again. So car was backed onto some ramps.....
Nothing special here though as they are only going to get dirty again. So cleaned with some warm water with a little megs gold class car wash mixed in. Dried with an old MF towel, polished with megs metal polysh and wiped off with an old MF cloth.
Next up, gave the car a quick wash in the usual way, dried off and parked up. Dressed the tires with megs endurance dressing, chrome done with megs metal polysh, windoes done with AG glass spray inside and out. No need for was as it was done last week with Zymol cleaner wax, so just a quick wipe over with Megs QD and 2 MF cloths to bring out the shine.
(Notice the steamed up fog lights in the above picture, well these had been like this for a while, so later on i unscrewed the caps underneath and they were full of water, so took the car out for a quick spin without the caps on to dry the lights out, put some gel bags inside the caps to absorb any moisture, and popped the caps back on.)
I like the look of the newly painted callipers with the stickers against the nice clean wheels.
Finally, gave the inside a quick hoover out and wiped the plastics over with a damp MF cloth. Hoping to give the whole inside a good going over with a wet and dry some time soon.
Hope you enjoyed reading about what ive been up to. As usual, comments always welcome.
Cheers
Matt
