Default Cleaning the Carpets and Seats.....

The inside of my Signum is looking rather shabby and tired, the seats have water marks on them from wet winter clothing and it could do with some sprucing up!

What do you recommend for cleaning the seats and carpet? Can I use a Vax style wet and dry cleaner on them with some mild detergent? Or is there something else??

I would put pics up of the state its in, but frankly Im ashamed of how grubby it looks!

I would have though that a Vax style wet and dry with their "carpet" cleaner would be ok. I would not over wet the seats though, and make sure you suck as much water out as you can.

Thanks for that - going to attempt it early this week if i get an hour to myself. It smells like something has died inside the car - so Im not looking forward to what may be lurking!

Didn't Howard Basford clean the inside when it was in for repair?

No I wasn't joking. I'm surprised it wasn't. Mine came back spotless but that was from the Dealers.

APC mixed 10:1 is good for the interior and the vax machines will happily remove the foam.

I did make a comment to them about "I hope the inside is as clean as the outside"

Got a strange look off the guy in the office, which kind of read as "I knew there was something we forgot!"

Exactly what I use on mine, comes up a treat. Just make sure you dont use a too aggressive brush as it bobbles the softer fabrics.

Not tried the wet ones but the dry one I've got is pants. I saw a full size wet and dry Vac in Aldi last week. Think it was £50.00 and came with a load of accessories.
