Head Gasket help please !!

Hi all,

Cleared out the garage today to stick my Vec B 2.2 SRi in as the Head gasket has failed.

Will gradually repair the vehicle over a few weeks, the coolant is a lovely shade of grey, white and black lol and has some nice thick gooey bits in it.

I think I will have to use some coolant flush stuff, Do you stick it in, run it and then drop it out before I take the engine apart and rebuild or afterwards ?

Hi no do the job first try an flush out most of the oil from the water with the hoses off. When job done get a special cooling system adative to clean cooling system. One job is done get an engine flush take car for a short run and change oil.

1) So I drop the coolant and oil first, hopefuly taking most of it out.....

2) Do the job, refill coolant and oil, take for short drive...

3) Then use flush in both coolant and oil, drop it and refill with clean ???

Also, Would you drive it with the flush in ? I assume it would need to warm up and mix to clean the rubbish out ??
