Question Removing trim from steering wheel

The plastic bits on the steering wheel spokes that also contain the audio controls etc. Is it a case of just prising them off?, or is there a certain way to do it? Can't find anything in TIS. Tells you how to remove the whole wheel, but not those bits!

I want to familiarise myself with removal and fitment in preparation for receiving a new wheel. Quite happy to experiment with the hire car I have , at least if I break anything then it's a case of a dab of superglue and hand the car back!!!

Not sure. There are 2 screw holes on the back of the wheel, behind where these panels are. Don't know if they release these panels or just the airbag under neath the centre part.

You are ferking joking!! I want to just remove the spoke trims, not the whole wheel (yet). I know you need to remove the airbag to take off the wheel, but for the spoke trims?!!

How are the VXR silver trims different to the standard silver ones? I've got the lower spoke one to fit already but dont know how the other 2 are different?
