Unhappy 02 Vectra C 2.2 Dti- Brake Pedal Problem

    Hi Guys,

Just after replacing the back brake pipes on my vectra (rusted) for MOT. Pretty sure back section off master cylinder was drained. New pipes on and brakes bleeded. When car switched off I have a great pedal but switch the car on and the pedal slowly falls to the floor. Brakes where perfect before this change. Anyone got a clue, we're standing around the car scratching our heads.

    Cheers All.

Its been mentioned on here before that with diesels you can get pedal creep - which is basically what you're getting. Surprised you weren't getting it before the work started though.

    Cheers Big Dave,

My pedal goes straight to the floor, we timed it at 14 seconds on the first press down after being pumped up switched off.

Did you force any brake fluid back into the master cylinder? If you, there's a risk of flipping the rubber seals.

    Smile

    Hi,
Spoke to Stealers. They have a preesure bleeding system but don't use it. They bleed as normal, and what air they don't get out gravity does the rest. Oh yeah, my master cylinder is 100%. All vectras do this seemingly. Patience and love is the cure for everything. Cheers all
