oh well, just when i was thinking it would be worthwhile watching F1 again they start all this type of thing... If Jarno overtook and therefore gained a place while the safety car was out then how can he not be in the wrong?

Lets face it McClaren will never be in the right whatever happens as the FIA seem to have it in for them.

Bring on the WRC, far more entertaining and a lot less politcal

Because even though Trulli had come off the track, he was still moving and in the race. Hamilton passed him under the yellow flag and queried with his pit crew as to whether he was breaking the rules and should give the place back.

He then slowed down and gave the place back to Trulli because of it, but when it came to talking to the stewards he just said that Trulli had overtaken him under a yellow and never mentioned to them about the whole issue and his conversation with his own team, not realising that the stewards would hear the tape and show proved him to be lying.

Hamiltons and McClarens fault this time. You would've thought they'd want to be whiter than white after last season

what did they do wrong last season then?

That explains it a bit better, When i watched the BBC1 coverage all the commentators were saying that trulli was in the wrong because he had over taken LH while the flags were out..
But its still far to political to be a fair sport, and the fia are out to make McClaren pay this season as they did last season and the season before that..!
Hopefully no one will sign upto the new race wins thing next year, and a new governing body is formed which has the interests of the sport as its main goal and not pleasing certain manufacturors

Who cares, Button still won (until they get disqualified for their rear diffuser). Which means Trulli could end up winning.

Nice to see more teams competing at the front. Makes a change from Mclaren and Ferrari all the time. Maybe we'll all see the potential Jenson Button has of being a top driver finally take place.

    Default Hamilton Stripped

Just read the news, Hamilton and Mcclaren have both been excluded from the Aussie GP. Trulli has been re-instated as 3rd place. So Both Mclaren and Ferrari on Nil points.

This does not sit well with me, surely if the stewards made a decission
based on the inormation that avaiable after the race, then if there is an error, the error is the stewards NOT Hamiltons or McClarens.
My understanding is that the FIA stewards operate in a similar manner to
any other legal body. All teams have radio messages are taped through out the race and these tapes would have been available to the stewards when they made the initial judgement. If the stewards chose not to listen to the tapes as part of the evidence then this defies belief. If there is evidence to prove Hamiltons innocence, will they revoke this ruling and reinstate his position?

That they are able to change the decission made previously, surely sets a dangerous legal president.

I firmly believe that the that the biggest losers are not messers Hamilton and Whitmarsh, but us the followers of a sport that sees races and championships decided in the court room, not the race track.
