    Default Help!! I'm Scared.......

The Mrs wants to learn to drive...............in my vectra!!!

Just added her to my insurance policy, I think I am going to find the biggest car park thats empty I can!!

Does anyone know if you can buy inflatable protesctors to fit the exterior of your car - just in case

Best get a new clutch / bumper / etc on order...

mine destroyed the clutch and reveresed into a lampost the only one on an industrial estate car park.

She then was advised to learn by an offcial instructor... cheaper!

Get a small, easy to drive and cheap car for her such as a Ford Ka.

The amount of stress and anxiety created by her learning in your family car probably isnt worth it.

See if she will take some lessons first, then when she gets good, but just needs road experience leading up to her test.... THEN get her in the Vectra to save costs

Let another car take the brunt first...

Thats my advise anyways... as said, you'll end up paying in the end

It would probably be cheaper to pay for her lessons, or do you mean she is having lessons and also practising in the vectra? buy some cheap nasty bumpers to go on it while she is driving, oh yeah and doors, mirrors, sills, lights. other than that she'll be fine.

It would cost about £80 a month for lessons, where it has only cost an extra £20 fully comp on my insurance!!

Also we cant afford another car at the moment, she will be practicing in the vec as she has had lessons previously, and then having more proper lessons prior to her test!!

Then I will buy her a small car, there no way I will let her loose on the vec on her own!!

Lessons are the way to go otherwise you get into bad habbits.

I started playing golf and had lessons from the start. I have a good swing and it feels natural, just don't play enough to get a decent score.
