Default Anyone used Tesco's Warranty Plan. Are they any good?

I've been looking at this warranty repair option that Tesco are offering.
They appear to do 3 types.

A value one at £199, Standard = £259 and the Finest which is £339 per annum.

As the wifes car warranty shortly finishes, I was thinking about taking one of these out with Tesco, but before doing so, I wondered if any members on here have had any experiences of these warranty repair schemes, good or bad?

    Cheers guys.

I bought my car 3 years old, just out of warranty. I havent had one repair (touch wood quick) in nearly 3 years, saved me between £600-£1000 on additional warranty by that price. However on the otherhand, im sure there are some people who say that if they had have taken out an additional warranty, they would have saved a fortune in repairs!!

I have looked at Tesco too as my Vx warranty is up in May. Would be interested to hear people's experiences of tesco too.

AVOID Warranty Direct, I filled out their form for a quote and have been inundated with phonecalls and e-mails since. They are a pain in the butt.

There scheme seems to be run by a company called Car Care Plan (A GM Company) http://www.carcareplan.co.uk/companyoverview.htm and seem to provide schemes for independent dealers and manufactures along with GAP insurance etc... I imagine if Tesco have put their name to it, it should be OK.

    Default tesco warranty

I have got a tesco warranty plan and i have claimed on it for a crank sensor and had no problems what so ever with it and the good thing is you dont have to take the car to tesco repairer they let you take it to any vat reg garage

i would go for the standard cover rmate

When i had my mk4 golf tdi up for its service at the main vw garage in shetland, i asked about which warranty to go for (as mine was due to expire), and she recommeded tesco, stating that they are the easiest and best company to work with by far and they have ever had problems making claims. Thanks matey, yes it does indeed appear to be backed by GM, so I suppose one could assume it gives a little more credibilty for cover on a VX vehicle. Like most things... its a gamble, but with some of the high repair charges these days, especially as I'm getting to a age where I dont fancy getting too involved myself, one claim and your've got your money back.

Thanks for the feedbacks, I think I will take out their standard cover.

I've just signed her up to the full RAC Bluebadge breakdown cover for £98.78 which is a good deal for bluebadge holders saving almost £40 on their usual price. I have the VX assist on mine for 1 yr with the extra 2 yrs RAC cover free this time round, but nothing on hers previously. One of those things you hope your'll never need but you gotta have it.

I missed out on the 2nd and 3rd cover when I bought my late vec-c new, as they had just stopped it, but they now include it again.
