you will need some help from a mate, get them to hold the gear stick and get a hammer and bolster chisel and whack it upwards this worked for me
angle grinder for me
If you had read into the subject you would have seen that it was BETTER LEFT ALONE.
Tools used in the past, hacksaw, chesil, blowtorch, mole grips, club hammer, welding kit, two big mates and a whole load of aggro.
I had a wooden one on my Alfa and used a saw to take it off.
what i did was used a hacksaw to cut the old one off, then when there was just the aluminuim part left on the gear stick, i got a a small wood chesil and put it underneath and give it a whack with my hammer and it popped off, just have to be careful not to damage the lift up reverse collar. Took me about 20 mins and im not the most technically gifted person.
Cheers people , my mates gonna help me if that fails will get vauxhall people to do it for me
All done now . Vx dealer fitted it for £19 quid which i thought was ****** good , and they had to hacksaw it off ...
