newby with factory lpg fuel gauge problem

hi i have just bought a 2002 vectra c 1.8 sri with factory fitted lpg system about 5 weeks ago and all has been fine until 2 days ago the fuel gauge says the tank is empty but i tried to fill it again and it only took 2 litres has anybody any idea what the problem might be as when it is on petrol the gauge works fine ta for any help

My work colleague has a Bi-fuel Astra.

Every so often he puts a fiver of petrol in the car, coz seemingly the car starts up by using petrol and then after 30secs or a min it switches automatically to LPG.

Could this be the cause - no unleaded in it ?

would that make the gauge not work

well its ok now as the gauge has started working again weird pain in the ass lol, the gauge worked when switching it to petrol but says empty when i put it back to lpg.
as for searching the word lpg is to short a term to search on this forum thats a bit of a pain to as its my first lpg car and my first vectra aswell cheers for the replys though

can you confirm if it's the lpg guage or the normal petrol guage that your having probs with?

usual problem is the 90 ohm pickup mounted to the manual guage in the centre of the tank in your spare wheel well next to the gas changeover solinoid check the connections on this

hi sorry not been on for a while, its factory fitted lpg so works off the 1 gauge for petrol and lpg, and the problem just sorted its self out so dont know what happened but thanks for the help
