    Default Gearbox oil how much??

I'm going to change the gearbox oil in my car (1.9ctdi 150bhp sxi), i've been told that the amount of oil the gearbox holds has been changed. I've called three dealers and can't get a definitive answer, 'oh it's about.....' seems to be the answer i'm getting. I understand Vauxhall recommend reducing the amount to 2 and a bit litres, does anyone know exactly how much is recommended??
    thanks

    Jim.

Update- i spoke to a local vauxhall dealer regarding the oil capacity of the gearbox, he said it should be 2.7litres and not 3.2 as standard. So tonight after changing the oil and putting in the new amount i can say the gearbox is a lot smoother, i wouldn't say it's as good as a passat i drove recently but the scrunch going into 2nd and 3rd is all but gone, the gearchange feels lighter as well which is a bonus. Next i'll adjust the gearchange cables to see if i can improve things further, but as it is now it's pretty good.

    It's a 54 plate 1.9cdti 150bhp.

I have read various figures on what the gearbox oil capacity should be, anything from 2.2 litres to 3.2 litres. In the end the parts guy in the vaux dealer said it was 2.7 litres, he quoted the figure after inputing my registration into his computer. Hopefully he's right and driving the car earlier tonight it feels MUCH better.

Not really, took me about an hour including a coffee break. Jack the car up, remove the undertray, undo the drain plug and drain into a suitable tray, while it's draining jack it back down while you get at the filler plug. You need to remove the battery then undo the three bolts that secure the battery tray to the car, it's very awkward to remove the tray but i managed to wiggle it far enough out of the way without removing it completely. Undo the filler plug, go have a coffee!
Replace the drain plug to the correct torque (50nm), i used a funnel and a length of pipe to get the oil into the gearbox, fill it up with the desired amount of oil and replace the filler plug again to 50nm. Replace the battery tray, battery and undertray.........that's it. I had my radio code handy but didn't need it as the radio hadn't lost any presets.

Had same problem with mine.Apparently too much oil affects the syncromesh cones (slows them down or something).
