All right big man. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I used to have a place selling wheels/tyres etc and still have my Yokohama fitment guide. Looking at it now the recommended rim width for a 235 section tyre is 8 to 9J with 9.5J also permissable. So your rim width shouldn't be a problem but I would go back and make them fit a new set of tyres on the rims and then they can take it up with their supplier to sort them out.

i have got 19x8.5 with 225/35/19 tyres, but that is what i wanted. because i have lowered the car so low, i needed narrower tyres, they scrub a little at the min so any wider would be a problem. i also like the look of the tyres/wheels when the tyres are slightly stretched. makes the wheels look wider than they are.

theres a mk1 golf that ive seen with 15x8 wheels with 165/45(i think)/15 tyres.

i have seen pics where you can put your finger in between edge of the tyre and the rim.

Jeez, is that what it was Phil?! A faulty batch of tyres? If so, it's ferking disgraceful they didn't notify you that you were one of the 'lucky' recipients!! I suppose their only 'excuse' is that they never had your details?
