Replacement for 2013

Hi all,
Lost my original post so sorry if this is duplicated.

All I want is a touch screen satnav instead of the current colour 2013 display.

I have a £50 portable satnav and was hoping I could have something similar to replace the existing screen so it would use it to display everything 'as is' (including built in sat nav that I wouldn't use) and I could then use it independently as a touch screen satnav.
I read about the units having to be matched. No idea why VX would do this as the screen doesn't need any functionality, its just a screen !

The only alternative is to replace the whole lot but then I guess I would lose the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket (and it would be a lot more expensive). Mine is NOT the one with the knurled wheels its a 2004 model. The satnav is an absolute pain to program , selecting all the letters by scrolling through - very dated.
Any thoughts - or better still, has anyone done it?
I do know that I could carry on using my portable one - cheapest solution but not so elegant !

You can only use VX displays, either a CID or GID with the NCDC2013 (As far as I know). So, with the colour screen, you've basically got the as "good as it gets" version. The only way round is to fit a after market system like a Pioneer or JVC double din or single din fold away system.
