    Default Need New Wipers-I think?

Was driving my Dad's facelift SRI over the weekend and im certain it needs new wiper blades.

When it starts to wipe, they almost leave streaks, but by the time its finished its cycle, it actually leave the screen gleaming!

They have also started to make a kind of rubbing noise, but they do not feel as though they are going to start grazing the screen.

    Do I need new blades?

If so, what would you recommend?

Any links to cheap decent blades would be useful.

    Thanks.

Tesco flatblades are good, I had those and bought the proper VX ones (as the Tesco brackets are a little on the large side), and the Tesco blades performed better for me.

I had the Tesco one on my B before and they were cack. They cleaned really well going up, but on the way down, they missed the whole of the middle section of the wiper.

Very reluctant to re-try them again!

But with the Tesco one's, the results have been very hit and miss, some say they are awesome, some say they are rubbish!

Try the retro fit flat blades mate, I prefer them on my 2006 Sri to the standard wipers and probably cost the same now anyway Get em on LMF of cheap but resonable ones on ebay. I also got my screen replaced by autoglass recently due to a crack in the glass and the wipers are so much better, so might be worth giving the windscreen a really good clean too

Got to be honest, i got a set of flat blades from Tesco last week and they are superb! Fitting kit is easy enough to set up, got the blades on and i'm really impressed. I think they are worth a go if you can get hold of them, only certain Tesco stores have them from what i can gather. But at £4 each, i dont think they're bad at all.

As mentioned in an earlier post, its personal preference i guess but i really do rate these.

Try cllleaning the blades with a vinegar solution and giving them a good wipe.
It will probably be a good build up of cack on one side of the rubber that is causing the smears

I would try this tbh first, its the cheaper option. They do get alot of cac on them sometimes. check the condition of the rubber on them, to see if they have perished too.
I have used quick detailer on all my screens, it works as well as rain-x imo, so any rubbish thrown at your sreen after will just roll away.
I have bought the retrofit flat blades too, they work very well, but were off e-bay, for £13.
