Thread: Aluminium/Plastic bit on tailgate

    Default Aluminium/Plastic bit on tailgate

    Removed the vectra letters off this evening and it has left a few marks, more so around in between where the letters were previously..tried alsorts on it but to no avail...
    any ideas what will get it off...can I use polish on it? tried clay but that hasnt worked..
    can take a pic if I aint explaining what i mean very well!

    The strip is made of metal Dwabo, might be able to use something like autosol or brasso..... I'd try something very lightly abrasive like Brasso or Silvo first, then move onto Autosol if you're feeling brave!!!

    I thought about using a scouring pad very lightly..then Had a word with myself and told myself not to be silly!..it looks more like muck/grime or even traffic film tbh but tried alsorts...
    will see what its like after it has had a good clean tomorrow and if its still as noticeable..also tried tar remover, but that aint shifted it!

    give alloy cleaner a go, but wash off quick!

    I had the same trouble and used Solvol Autosol, worked a treat and did no damage.. Just go for it

    I used Turtle Wax bug and tar remover when I did mine and it works a treat.

    Sometimes takes a few applications and a bit of rubbing, but when it comes off it buffs up like new.

    i just kept polishing with autoglym mate and that worked pretty well and its not abrasive but it is a pain and takes a bit of time to get it right

    I used Autoglym chrome polish. Came up a treat.
