Thread: Help with laquer

    Default Help with laquer

    Ok, sprayed the tank my dads 1968 triumph bonneville yesterday with some fule proof clear laquer. It's come out really well aprat from 2 pin hole blemishes. can the laquer be rubbed down with some 2500 wet n dry and still be able to buff it up with polish??

    My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

    Hopefully i will be round my dads tomorrow, i'll take some pictures if your intrested. He has six bikes in his workshop all restored by himself and in mint condition. In the collection he has:

    Yeah back to topic. Can anyone help me with the laquer problem???

    i tryed rubbing it down on my tinted rear ights with 2500 paper, im not an expert by any means but i ended up starting all over again...it went a dull kind of colour were id rubbed and just anoyed me

    can that dull be buffed up. I've never had to do it before as usuallythe final coat is spot on. Used the last of the laquer that wass all. If i have to rub it down again it will be done 1k clear coat next

    i tryed but failed...perhaps i was too ruff though not sure like i said, im no expert, mine was also because i used the las tout of the tin and it splootered a bit

    If you rub it down with very fine Wet n Dry it will polish back up using cutting compounds as I have had to do it in the past and you actually get a better finish
