    Default Noise from brake caliper?

    Hey,

It seems to be one problem after another just now with the veccy

Today was slowing down for a set of lights and the brakes started rumbling only from the O/S/F wheel, the rumble went away after using the brakes a couple of times but now im left with a pretty vocal noise everytime i press the brake pedal as if you can hear the piston or a spring move/compressing

The pads have only done 5000miles and are still pretty much perfect and i checked the retaining spring on the caliper and it was perfect also.

The noise is definetly coming from the caliper somewhere just dont have a clue why it has just appeared so suddenly, can anyone help or have an idea or what the problem could be???

    Cheers guys

check the inside edge of your disc it may have excessive corrosion and is causing the noise - a disc skim should clear the problem hth regards Dez

That sounds about right actually, the initial noise could have been a lump of rusty disk getting somewhere it should'nt. Ill get the wheel off 2moro and see what i can do with it. Thanks mate

Have'nt been able to get access to my tools but got my hands in and around the disk through the alloy, the disks look and feel good maybe as if they were changed when the pads were done. There is a small lip on the inside of the disk which is slightly larger than the outside lip, but iv seen disks which are a mess and these look rather tidy so now im kinda lost again

I did notice that the pad wear sensor wire was just dangling around behind the hub area not attached to the pad but i doubt this has anything to do with it. Now what to do next

definately going to have to take the wheel off. If you cant see anything after that, might have to take the caliper or brake pads out. Possibly just could be some foreign material has got trapped in the caliper? I'd also look at securing the sensor wire, it shouldnt be hanging like you described.

Im gona need to get it all stripped down cleaned and greased and get something done with the pad sensor. Its like a creak noise so there must be something in there that should'nt be.
