    Default Signum 2.2 dti engine management light coming on and cutting engine

    Hi, I bought a 2003 signum elegance 2.2 dti 3 weeks ago and after 8 days the engine management light started coming on and cutting the engine. I took it back to the dealer and they said it showed no faults so reset the computer and said bring it back if it does it again. A week on and it's doing it again, but more often, couldn't get it the 30 miles back to Leeds so took it to local vx dealer and they have said it is ECU (electronic part of the injector pump to be precise) and will cos nearly £2500 to repair. My dealer wants it back so he can repair as he wont give me my money back til I give him chance to repair. Has anyone had these kind of problems with a Signum and how did you go about getting it sorted?? All help greatfully appreciated.

    Ok mate first up get them to tech 2 the engine ,record what fault codes are raised .
    Going by what you have said so far i would expect boost sensor fault ,egr fault or vacuum advance fault . or split or damaged hoses most of which can be fixed for next to nought definettly not £2500 he is just taking the p***

    Hi, I'm having the same probs. Think its the vacuum tubing thats not plumbed in right. Trying to get help on here now actually...

    Ok well my problem was the high pressure pump which was goona cost £2500 to repair. The garage wouldn't fork out to repair it so they have given me a full refund. Now I've got to find another Signum /Vectra.
